Theory of Errors and Least Squares Adjustment

This course provides students with the necessary skills to collect, analyse and adjust survey measurement data for a variety of applications. The Least Squares technique is normally used to calculate adjusted values and precision indicators, with the results presented in one or more coordinate systems. The purpose of this course is to provide the students with an understanding of the law of propagation of errors, statistical theory, and applications to the analysis and adjustment of survey observations using the Least Squares method.
