Stephen Lang's captivating performance as Stonewall Jackson is a pleasure to watch. On a smaller note, the soundtrack to this film is fantastic better than Gettysburg in some respect as it is more varied even though it is by the same composer Randy Edelman. This was filmed with little CGI special effects, but instead they used armies of re-enactment volunteers who were happy to play their role in return for a hefty contribution to Civil War battlefield preservation.
